Hi! Welcome 2write4health! I am so glad you are taking the time to read about me and my blog.

My name is Karen. My husband and I recently moved to Georgia after spending our entire lives in Wisconsin (Neenah). With the encouragement of our three adult children, we started a new adventure. My hubby retired (ever so briefly) after 34 years with the same company, and took advantage of a new job opportunity.

This opportunity also provided me with the chance to follow my dreams. I had been a teacher for 17 years, teaching everything from 1st grade to 7th. Most recently I had the privilege of working with high ability middle schoolers and sharing my passion of writing (and Social Studies…but not as passionate about that). While there are many things I miss about the job, I was excited to start this next chapter where I could devote more time to writing.

The hubby and I have been happily married for over 28 years. I am so thankful God brought us together. He is a keeper.  Each and every day he tells me how much he loves me.


Together, we have raised three children (26, 25, and 24 years old), all of whom I am immensely proud. My two oldest live in Boston. My youngest is still in Wisconsin.


In 2015, Quinn entered our lives. While I never considered myself a dog person, I now cannot imagine my life without her. Best. Dog. Ever. She is a 7 year old Golden Retriever.


Running, biking, hiking, boating, sailing, and skiing are my favorite ways of staying active. I’ve been running for over 30 years, and have completed 5 marathons. I am trying really hard to love yoga.  I also enjoy reading, writing, and making (and photographing) vegan food!

I began a blogging in May of 2014. My goal was to combine my passions for writing and health. I was featured in Gena Hamshaw’s (of The Full Helping) Green Recovery series a few years ago as well. You can read that here.

Now I think of my blog as more of a lifestyle blog. I write about everyday things, everyday thoughts, and everyday people. Occasionally I post recipes.
