An Early Morning Run (a poem)

An Early Morning Run

Neenah's Harbor

Neenah’s Harbor

An early morning run

Leads me through Neenah’s leaf strewn streets.

Leaves crunch beneath my feet,

and ghostly shadows of sailboats arise from the harbor.

Running through Neenah’s leaf strewn streets,

makes me feel like all is well with the world.

Ghostly shadows of sailboats arise from the harbor.

The dim glow of streetlights guide my way.

All is well with the world.

A faint, pink glow appears over the lake.

Streetlights guide my way.

My breathing permeates the silence.

A faint pink glow appears over the lake.

Leaves crunch beneath my feet.

My breathing permeates the silence.

An early morning run.
